With the weekend finally here, some are looking for a more fun-fuelled entrance into our break. But if you’re like us and looking for a gentle beginning, then look no further than Dylan Joshua’s new single “Shordies Vs The Internet. From its R&B laced production to the melancholic melodies, the artist dives into a reflective and introspective soundscape that breaks down the pressures of living in a digital age.
“It’s just my perspective of feeling how much the internet’s culture affects the people around me,” the artist said when speaking on the release, “Even when you don’t completely buy into it yourself, it becomes a standard the people around you start to abide by, eventually affecting you. And even though you don’t seem to know anyone living a life as simple or perfect as the internet makes it seem, we still aim for it, we believe in it. It starts affecting our wants and desires, changing the way we view our own relationships or body or material possessions.”
Already known for his candid approach to R&B productions and ability to blur the lines between the genre and hip-hop, the artist is a breath of fresh air in the music scene, and we’re curious to see where his journey will take him,
