Listening: Sticky Fingers – LEKKERBOY
If you are looking for a relaxed and laidback listen to get you through a weekend spent basking in the sun, there is only one album you should be streaming: Sticky Fingers’ LEKKERBOY. A surprisingly tame and melodic album from the Australian 5-piece, listeners are being treated to another dose of the band’s indie-meets-rock-meets-reggae sound, albeit a toned down dose, resulting in a 13-piece project that I have not been able to stop sticking on repeat. I am pretty sure that “Napalm” is going to be my most-streamed song of 2022 when Spotify Wrapped rolls around, but I am not mad about it.

Eating: Atis
When lunchtime rolls around, the forever-torturous decision of what to eat usually has me and the wonderful ladies of Wonderland in somewhat of a stressful spiral. Enter, Atis. The salad bar’s Azteca bowl provided the perfect lunch for me last week and was undoubtedly a Mexican-lovers dream as creamy avocado and beans and the extremely salty crunch served up by crushed tortilla chips met a much-needed sour hit provided by zesty lime and coriander dressing, resulting in a delicious eat. With circular takeaway containers complete with clear plastic lids making me and the girls feel as if we were truly in our Kardashian bags as we shook the living daylights out of our lunches, it is safe to say that the viral TikTok salad spot is well worth a visit next time you are in Notting Hill.

Watching: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
If you know me, you know that reality TV is a not-so-guilty pleasure of mine. So, as you can imagine, the return of the ladies of the Hidden Hills in the form of a brand new series of TRHOBH has had me overflowing with excitement. Let the binge-watching commence!

Listening: 80purppp – “Soleli”
There is nothing better than letting your Spotify run on just vibes and stumbling on a new artist, and that is how I found 80purppp. From his silky smooth vocals to his romantic and sweet-toned lyricism, the artist perfectly captures the essence of a holiday romance in his music. I’m pretty sure his song “Soleli” will be my song of the year because I haven’t been able to stop listening all week.

Wearing: OhPolly
In case you haven’t visited my IG page in a while, I’ve been jetting across the world and my latest destination was Chania on the island of Crete. And of course in true Dayna style, I had to be dripped out in the latest fashion for the holiday and OhPolly delivered. Known to be the go-to place for night outs ‘fits and birthday celebrations, the brand came through with some thirst-trap bikinis from their sister brand Neena and airport cosy two pieces that have you flying out in style. You already know I’ve got a basket ready for my next flight.

Watching: Waterloo Road
I’m not sure if it was the news that a reboot was on the way or yet another wave of nostalgia, but this week I’ve been OBSESSED with Waterloo Road. Whether it was the episode of them finding a baby buried in the school or yet another headteacher spiralling out of control, the show is a timeless classic that never fails to bring back the memories of high school. What a time to be alive.

Watching: Fresh
As much as I try to deny it, I never really resurfaced from my 2012 fangirl era. And while watching Daisy Edgar-Jones deliver another knockout performance in the addictively unsettling Fresh, I slowly found myself falling into fandom for Sebastian Stan — all kidnapping and cannibalism aside. Having always had a twisted affinity for the horrific and gory, I knew I’d binge the pair’s latest effort as soon as it was released, but nothing could have prepared me for the ride in which the film embarks. Building an idyllic boy-meets-girl plotline within the first thirty minutes, Fresh betrays your expectations much like it betrays the protagonist — making for one of the most satisfying and electrifying watches I’ve had in a long time. It’s a 5/5 recommendation from me.

Doing: Whistle Punks Axe Throwing
If you like me, have yet to find a satisfying outlet for all your anger and anxiety, I strongly suggest you pay a visit to Whistle Punks Urban Axe Throwing in London. Stocked with friendly staff, plenty of targets and a fridge full of beers (low alcohol, obviously), Whistle Punks provided me with a new favourite pastime. Though it is much harder than it looks, the axe throwing was one of the most cathartic experiences I’ve had — and it’s a lot cheaper than therapy.
