Bodies, Bodies, Bodies

No Screen Wonders would be complete without a feature from a soon to be cult-classic A24 release. And, this week’s is particularly gripping. Unveiling the gory trailer for Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, the production company has introduced us to our new favourite on-screen ensemble, comprised of the likes of Amandla Stenberg, Chase Sui Wonders, Rachel Sennott and Pete Davidson, who are all taking to the big screen for a twisted and inherently hilarious tale. With a remote mansion playing host to the group of dysfunctional friends, the movie sees an innocent whodunnit-esque game turn sour as a real-life murder causes the group to embark on a blood-filled quest to unveil the culprit amongst them. Sure to have watchers gasping out of horror and howling with laughter, this is not one to miss upon its release on August 5th.

Don’t Worry Darling

Here it is, the trailer to end all trailers: Don’t Worry Darling. Serving up the shiny exteriors synonyjmous with The Stepford Wives, the highly-anticipated trailer gives us our first official look at Florence Pugh and, the man of the hour, day, month and year, Harry Styles in action as couple Alice and Jack, who live in a concealed experimental community in which the wives stay home and the men go to work at the secret and soon to be revealed as sinister Victory Project. During the duration of the trailer, we watch Alice grow increasingly suspicious as forever-increasing cracks in the idyllic surface of her life begin to reveal a dark underbelly that fuels chaotic feuds and twisted revelations. While a riveting plot is more than you could ask for from a trailer release, Don’t Worry Darling’s brings with it one more thing that we have all been patiently waiting for: plenty more Harry and Florence romance, and for that we are thankful. Headed towards release on September 21st, this is not one to be missed.

We Own This City

A harrowing true drama always holds the capacity to set pulses racing, and We Own This City has done just this. Best summed up by HBO, the limited series takes us on a journey through, “The rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force,” which promises to shed light on “the corruption and moral collapse that befell an American city in which the policies of drug prohibition and mass arrest were championed at the expense of actual police work.” With The Wire’s David Simon and The Deuce’s George Pelecanos spearheading the production here, and a deeply moving and eye-opening story promising to shed light on the corrupt political landscape that plagued Baltimore, it is a release that will have you and your friends talking. Now available to stream, brace yourself for an intense watch.

Bling Empire season 2

Calling all reality TV heads, this one is for you! Your favourite drama-fuelled, undeniably fashionable Netflix series is back for round two. Yes, we are talking about Bling Empire. Set to pick up where it left off after its warmly-received debut, we are being plunged back into the lives of Kevin Kreider, Christine Chiu, Jamie Xie and the rest of the cast as we are promised blossoming romance, wedding planning and of course, catfights galore. Mark May 13th in your calendars, as Netflix is set to get a lot more dramatic from then on.

A Perfect Pairing

If you are in the mood for a laid back, slightly cheesy, rom-com, Victoria Justice has got you. Starring alongside Adam Demos in the upcoming Netflix movie A Perfect Pairing, we watch the star take to Australia in a bid to land a major client, which involves her putting her blood, sweat and tears into the upkeep of a winery. In the process, we see Victoria fall for a handsome ranch hand before embarking on a whirlwind romance. Corny, overly cute and all around sickly sweet, this is a watch that we can’t wait to sink our teeth into.
