In the midst of a crisis? Well, alt singer-songwriter Theo Kandel is here to let you that you are not alone. Dropping his bouncy new track, “Existential Crisis”, the artist on the rise treats us to a slice of his syrupy vocals, accompanied by the flow of simple yet affective acoustic instrumentation on the new single. With tongue-in-cheek lyricism also melting into the track, which situates itself in between the folk and pop realms, a unique tone prevails, making it a truly captivating listen.

“Growing up in New York, I got super into folk music – that was what drove me to write initially – but I always found that my music was too pop to be completely folk, and too folk to be completely pop,” explains the artist when contemplating the genre-blurring nature of his tunes.

To commemorate the release of the new track, the artist has also treated us to a self-directed music video, as playfully chaotic as the cut itself. Having us seeing triple, the artist and his identical companions groove along to the sound of their new track, sip on beers and kick back as the masterful lyrics dreamed up by Theo flash across the screen. Irresistibly relatable and a bop worthy of the name, “Existential Crisis” is a tune deserving of your attention today.
