R&B just got a new frontrunner, and it is South London’s VX Duse. Taking his first steps into the music sphere, the lyricist is treating us to a brand new cut hacked straight from his debut EP. “Sia” is a beautiful example of the direction modern R&B is taking, as pensive, soul-piercing beats marry with the romantic-toned vocals of Sia on the new release, culminating in a tune that promises to wind its way into your heart. With rapper Danny Sanchez slicing through the sensual cut with his captivating bars, the track becomes one of blended brilliance as it promises to plant itself firmly at the top of your weekly playlists.

When talking about the messaging that lies at the track’s core, VX Duse explains, “‘Sia’ is a song about a love interest in which love felt like the only thing that mattered at that moment in time, and that the rest of my life was sidelined for the person I fell for. It’s about finding an equilibrium between my love life and my passion for music so neither suffers from lack of attention.”

Of course, no R&B cut is complete with a vibey music video. With the pair taking to a dimly lit car park and spots with spectacular views of the London skyline, we are treated to the scenes of them serenading us, flashy cars and a contrasting plot in which a group of girlfriends indulge in a spontaneous night of carefree fun akin to those spent with your own pals. A sweet ode to the artist’s latest release, the Todd Duncan & Thomas Charters-directed video is one sure to captivate.
