Fashion month may have felt like it was light years ago, but this weekend was another monumental moment in the fashion calendar, and this was all thanks to Coachella. With the festival attracting the weirdest and most wonderful outfits of the year, we thought that it would only be fair to bring you some of our favourite looks from both on and off the stage in this week’s Looks of the Week. So, head below to see what Harry Styles, Vanessa Hudgens and Brockhampton have been wearing this week…
LOOKS OF THE WEEK
We are giving you a post-Coachella outfit round-up featuring Harry Styles, Vanessa Hudgens and Brockhampton.
Harry Styles had disco fever
It is official: Harry Styles is the king of Coachella. After making his headliner debut at the renowned desert-bound festival, the pop sensation has had everyone talking. Of course, this is due to the fact that the hordes of fans in attendance were treated to two brand new tracks hacked straight from his upcoming album, Harry’s House, but it was also due to his outfit of choice. Partnering with his most beloved brand, Harry rocked a custom all Gucci ensemble that perfectly encapsulated the mood of the show at hand. Avant-garde, outrageously bold and deliciously on-brand, the artist showed off a disco-esque jumpsuit that featured a chest-baring neckline capable of plunging the TL into a frenzy, and a dramatic black feathered coat to accompany. Thank you Harry, thank you.
Dua Lipa introduced us to our new favourite genre of dressing: backstage dressing
It is no secret that airport dressing has us in a chokehold. But, after seeing Dua Lipa’s latest IG post, we are pretty sure that backstage dressing will be your new obsession. Donning a t-shirt branded ‘Smile for the Camera’ akin to the cropped tees synonymous with Britney’s 00s fashion era, Dua also opted for a navy blue biker jacket, branded joggers and a pair of exaggerated red-tinged glasses that dreams are made of. So, who is going to invite us backstage at Dua’s show?
All hail Vanessa Hudgens, the queen of Coachella
When it comes to Coachella, there is only one person we look to for fashion advice, and that is the queen of the festival herself, Vanessa Hudgens. This year, the actress opted for elevated swimwear as a black cut-out one-piece with a crossed neckline lay underneath a sequined net slip dress. Beachy and subtle, although it may be a long way away from the flower crowns and sleeveless denim jackets of Coachella’s past, this look was a big win.
Brockhampton said farewell in branded varsity jackets
While Coachella is a time to celebrate, there was a slightly melancholic air that hung over a particular set and that was Brockhampton‘s. Taking to the stage for a final farewell, the hip-hop collective graced the crowds that came out to watch with a beautiful tour through their discography and the promise of a final album dropping later this year. And whilst performing, the boyband showed off an electric blue varsity jacket crafted in aid of their last performance. Branded with the words ‘All Good Things Must Come To The End’ and ‘The Show Is Over’ with the dates of their final performance scrawled across the back, the jacket boasted an effortlessly cool energy synonymous with all high school sports attire. To add that personal and emotion-evoking touch to the garment, the band also turned to an array of patchwork motifs to litter the jacket’s front which included everything from their initials to the names of their now-iconic albums. It really is Brockhampton forever.
Camila and Willow team up for Matrix-inspired trench coats and fishnets
We are rounding things off this week with the pair that dreams are made of, aka Willow Smith and Camila Cabello. Looking to risk it all with exposed underwear and sexy fishnet tights, the duo donned two heavy-duty trench coats that beautifully juxtaposed their undergarments. If anyone is casting for the new Matrix movie, we have found your gals.
