While the director of Squid Game is currently working on its second season, it would appear the rumours of its proceedings have seemed to divert towards Hwang Dong-hyuk himself. Though potential plots and castings have been a matter of widespread debate in regards to the Netflix franchise, attention has since been drawn to the ominous plot of Killing Old People Club — the working title of Dong-hyuk’s latest film project. And though the details of the effort come few and far between, we know one thing is for certain — it will be even more violent than Squid Game.

Considering the director has written a 25-page treatment on Killing Old People Club, the plot of the effort remains anyone’s guess. Inspired by a novel curated by Umberto Eco, an Italian historian and essayist who passed away in 2016, the story is thought to be brutal, toe-curling, and understandably of poor taste amongst our beloved senior citizens.

With Hwang’s penchant for addictively terrifying story synopsis’, heart-wrenching character development and daring attitude towards blood and gore, we are currently gearing ourselves up for the details of the project and will be sure to have updates as and when they present themselves.
