Speaking for ourselves respectively, our motivation to innovate our beauty has taken a serious hit over the past week. With the weather becoming more bipolar than ever, and with the promise of a UK heatwave now feeling like a belated April fools joke, we have found ourselves in a slight slump. Thankfully however, much of our jobs involve keeping on top of the latest trends and styles out there — and this week’s round-up went over and beyond to provide the boost of energy we needed to dig straight back into our makeup bags.

When it comes to a live show, Charli xcx always delivers in more ways than one. While performing her sparkling pop tunes and enchanting choreography at her LA show, the artist also showcased a show-stopping beat — fit with a contrasting hairdo that serves villainous vibes with a Barbie-esque twist. Strapped in a metallic bodice, she sports an exaggerated cat-eye embellished with large crystals at its tail. Tying her fringe into a high-tail pony, Charli xcx takes the phrase “out of this world” to new heights.

It’s official: Rina Sawayama and Pabllo Vittar sound just as good together as they look. While dropping a cheeky promo for their latest collaboration “FOLLOW ME”, the pair left our ‘grids gagging with these drama-heavy makeup looks. While Rina opts for a poison ivy inspired shadow, Pabllo keeps the pops of colour to the pupils. With elements of sparkle offering an extra dimension, Rina’s come in the form of a deep emerald green liner that forms the ultimate cat-eye. In Pabllo’s case, things get shapey as a curling line of diamontes trace his cheeks and brow bones.

Stripping it back to the basics, Hailey Bieber offers up this blushing look — a perfect middle ground between no-makeup-makeup and day-to-night glam. Using a charcoal-coloured eyeshadow, a smokey wing is created. Keeping the wing relatively thin, the overall result helps to elongate the eye bed. Maintaining a lifted aesthetic, Hailey brushes her eyebrows upwards for a soft feathered finish. With a subtle pop of colour washing over the lips and cheekbones in a warm rosebud hue, we all collectively agree that this will be our go-to for those heated spring-summer days and nights.

Though he didn’t take home a trophy from his five Grammy nominations, Lil Nas X was still flashing his pearly whites all night long. And proving his attention to detail is not limited to his tracks, he posts a close-up of his ceremonious look. Dusting a vibrant aqua shade in the inner corners of his eye, the American rapper draws attention to the subtle pastel colouring of his Balmain zip-up jacket. Though already dressed in a downpour of pearls, Lil Nas X finishes the ensemble with a diamond-encrusted grill — exactly as a true King should.

Since Sydney left us rolling on the floor after debuting her sultry strawberry blonde dye, we didn’t think the look could get any more iconic. That was, of course, until Sydney made eyes with the camera under a feathered fringe. Framing her face in a totally new way, the Euphoria actor looked both elegant and edgy for her appearance on The Ellen Show. With a warm-toned palette applied to the visage, the look was brought to a camera-ready finish with a mattified nude lip.

Coming for Lazy Town’s bag, Rosalía channels her inner Stephanie with a candyfloss-hued wig. Bluntly cut at the ends and fringe, the hairpiece perfectly compliments the songstress’s neon eyeshadow — a not-so-subtle homage to her latest track, “CANDY”. Completing the finishing touches of her beat, she applies a glossy fuschia shade and calls it a day.

Whenever there are diamonds involved, Megan Thee Stallion does not serve by halves. Decked out in canary yellow diamonds, she posts an iconic mirror selfie amidst a photo dump — and despite what you may think, the jewels were the last thing we noticed. Framed by a smokey ash-toned weave, Megan’s beat is a true testament to 90s matte glamour. Blending cool-tone grey with a frosty cream colour on the lids, her eyes are soft in nature, while her exaggerated lip liner does the rest of the talking.
