Hump day calls for a truly serene tune, and this is what French artist Léonie Barbot is serving up to us with her new track “Summer”. With a symphony-like blend of violins and other acoustic instrumentation coming together in perfect unison, a dreamy soundscape presets itself only to be met by vocals akin to those of angels. With sumptuous sounds receiving an avant-garde makeover, this is a tune headed straight towards our playlist.

“’Summer’ tells the story of a romance that’s slowly fading with the changing seasons, winter brings cold feelings and longing for the warmth of love and ‘Summer’ again,” explains the artist when pondering the meaning of her latest track.

And of course, any great musical cut comes accompanied by a cinematic music video. With the artist’s beautiful french accent ringing out, an almost poetic tone is set only to be built upon by the sweet-sounding voice of Léonie. With the artist taking to a fairground and pacing through a tranquil forest, we are treated to a set of captivating visuals which are as visually pleasing as they are meaningful. With masterful director Jeffrey teaming up with the talent and explaining that the concept is based around the idea of “shadows and light as a central character in the film,” it becomes clear that this is less of a music video and more a piece of art.
