A cult classic is a hard thing to honour through the medium of a remake. But, this is exactly what is about to happen to Brandon Lee’s The Crow.

Now standing as a beloved 90s masterpiece, The Crow, a film in which a musician murdered in cold blood is resurrected in the name of seeking revenge for his and his fianceé’s untimely fates, is most known as a tragic ode to the life and legacy of the actor and Bruce Lee’s son, who was sadly killed on the film’s set by a prop gun.

But now, much like the film’s main character himself, the script and story is being brought back to life and reimagined on the big screen by director Rupert Sander. With everyone’s favourite horror clown portrayer, Bill Skarsgård, set to step into the shoes of Lee and don a painted face once more, we are already feeling assured that we are in for a truly twisted performance. And, with the incomparable FKA Twigs also set to join him as a lead, it becomes clear that the chilling and revenge-fueled plot is being taken on by two of the industry’s leading mavericks.

With production set to commence in June, it is fair to say that this is one reboot that we cannot wait for.
