Happy Harry Styles Day to all! With today officially standing as the most exciting new music Friday of the year, Harry Styles has ignited a fangirl frenzy with the release of his highly anticipated track, “As It Was”.

Hacked straight from his forthcoming album, Harry’s House, the singing sensation has given us a look into a new sonic era with the single, and what a delight it is. Ushered in by a child’s voice exclaiming, ‘come on Harry, we want to say goodnight to you,’ the artist’s avant-garde style presents itself upon the first note, which is only built upon by the trickle of indie-tinged production and that angelic voice that we all know and love. With lyrics providing us with some deep introspection and a subtle shout out to his girlfriend, Olivia Wilde, it is clear that Harry is planning on his new project being the rawest one yet, and for that we are truly thankful.

And, of course, Harry wanted to treat us to the drop of the track’s accompanying music video as well. As inventive and artistic as it is dramatic, fans are invited to watch Harry run across a rotating podium, fling himself into an interpretive dance with a nameless companion and strip down to his pants whilst showing off an array of love heart red ensembles, culminating in what can best be described as visual bliss.

A release sure to consume the TL for the rest of the weekend and one that has us fully back in our fangirl era, “As It Was” is proof enough that Harry Styles is officially back.
