They say a picture is worth a thousand words, yet twelve pictures still do not provide us with enough material to satiate our anticipation for the arrival of Stranger Things season four.

Reuniting in front of the lens, we finally catch a glimpse of Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink and more as they prepare to bring the 65-award-winning horror drama to a close. And, for those of us still saving for therapy following the heart-wrenching fate of the beloved Hopper during the 2019 finale, there are some images of the character which are happily licking our two-year-old wounds.

Leaving us with some visual hints for the events of the fourth and final series of the franchise, the first look images officially have us counting down the days until the premiere — and from what we can tell, no story arc is off limits.

Following the nail-biting end of its predecessor, season four will visit the cast six months after the monumental Battle of Starcourt. As the teens struggle with the aftermath, they find themselves separated from each other for the first time — leaving them to deal with the complexities of high school all on their own.

Soon enough, however, the technicalities of adolescence will become the least of their worries. As an all new and undoubtedly terrifying supernatural threat surfaces — they are presented with a gruesome mystery which, if solved, could finally put an end to the upside down once and for all.

The fourth and final season is set to drop on May 27th this year on Netflix, and will be released in two volumes.
