At the very forefront of feminist movements, there is the house of Gucci. And continuing their five year commitment to UN Women’s Generation Equality Action Coalitions, they debut a capsule collection which not only marks International Women’s Day, but reinforces an urgency for progress towards a gender-equal future — and has us dressing well in the process.

Styled with a fun and graphic print in a bold palette of primary colours, the capsule is comprised of a relaxed-fit t-shirt and a baseball cap. Showcasing the “CHIME” logo on top of the iconic Gucci motif, the label pay homage to the global campaign founded by Gucci in 2013: CHIME FOR CHANGE. Motivated to unite and strengthen the voices advocating for gender equality, the collection was designed in collaboration with art director of CHIME Zine, MP5, in order to magnify the outreach of the collection.

Speaking of the latest capsule, President and CEO of Gucci Marco Bizzarri states, “As Gucci begins its second century, our commitment to a world that is more equal and inclusive is growing even stronger. We at Gucci proudly embrace the values and the action plans brought forward by ‘Generation Equality’ to accelerate progress for gender equality. With our campaign CHIME FOR CHANGE we stand together to support the next generation fighting for freedom, equality and respect.”

Of course, Gucci did not stop at just one collection. In order to drive the capsule’s incentives forward, the luxury Italian fashion house have also launched a Gucci Podcast series to enrich the current narrative around societal change. Elsewhere in Japan, Gucci will make their objectives unapologetically seen through a series of special lightings of the Tokyo Tower which will begin today, and on the 18th and 25th of March.
