Dominic Fike – “Elliot’s Song”

Let’s just say the world wasn’t ready when Dominic Fike took to his guitar strings to bring us “Elliot’s Song”. Yet under a week later, he has us all repenting for our momentary backlash as he releases a short version, tickled by the angelic backing vocals of Zendaya herself. Keeping all the evocative lyrics and soul-touching sentiments of the original, “Elliot’s Song” has us all in our sad girl feels, ready to stare out of a rain-spattered window on a railway service.

P-Rallel – “Vibes”

Giving us a gentle nudge into the weekend, P-rallel comes to hand with the hip-swaying hit “Vibes” featuring Sam Wise. True to its title, the song is pulsing with feel-good energy — partly thanks to the rhythmic patter of bongos. Sliding into the track with his signature spoken vocals, “Vibes” will be at the top of our playlists for tonights pre-drinks.

Priya Ragu – “Illuminous”

Proving herself to be a Wonderlist regular, Priya Ragu dropped “Illuminous” yesterday along with a mesmerising visual. While she photoshops her head onto a bodybuilder, the artist sings of her blessings, celebrating the light which humans carry before, during and after their earthly experiences. With a bad ass attitude and unapologetic sass, Priya shows she is a powerhouse to be reckoned with, while getting us all on our feet in the process.

Jeshi – “3210”

One name sure to be on your radar is Jeshi, and keeping it that way he releases “3210” — the focus single of his highly anticipated debut album Universal Credit. Played alongside a grainy music video which is as slick and hypnotic as his single, “3210” is the perfect exemplar of Jeshi’s effortless aesthetic, and has us all impatiently waiting for his album to drop on May 27th.

Knucks – “Leon The Professional”

Undoubtedly one of the hardest working artists of his kind, Knucks offers another slice of his genre-blending sound with his new track “Leon the Professional”. Inspired by the Natalie Portman classic, the North London rapper and producer tells the story of an isolated Leon who turns his unguided hand to crime. Mixing an almost balletic melody with a drill baseline, Knucks keeps his listeners on their toes, and has us all begging for the release of his EP “Alpha Place”.

Fanny Andersen – “Jump The Gun”

Hertfordshire-based musician Fanny Andersen wastes no time dropping us into a disco-fevered beat in her fresh release, “Jump The Gun”. Showing off her unique take on electro-pop music, the track elaborates on the artists inner battle to resist her impulses, which begin to close in on her with a chest-thumping beat. According to Anderson, “Jump The Gun” is, “A song about vulnerability whilst falling in love with someone and the fragile state you can get in due to past trust issues. It’s the constant battle of how much of yourself you should share in the initial stage of a relationship, because you don’t want to scare them off – but, at the same time, you want to tell them everything so you can be as close as possible. Almost a juxtaposition.”

Digga D – “G Lock”

It would appear Digga D’s brief hiatus was spent cultivating his sound, as his new single “G Lock” goes to great lengths to prove. Featuring a collaboration with Moneybagg Yo, the high-energy track is overflowing with cut-throat lyrics, razor sharp wit and a ribcage-shaking baseline. Alongside the release, the British star also announces the news of his highly-anticipated third mixtape, named “Noughty By Nature”.

Lynks – “Hey Joe (Relax)”

When it comes to new releases from Lynks, you truly never know what to expect. Yet departing from the usual chaos that threads their music, “Hey Joe (Relax)” takes a note from its title — opening with a calming intro of serenity. On the funky dance track, Lynks explains, “I find modern self-care culture really annoying. Brands telling you if you buy their £9.99 monthly subscription you’ll be ‘investing in your mental health’. Like what the fuck? It’s so uncomfortable. And so with the video, I kinda wanted to channel the nasty-ness of that whole world. I homed in on the ‘Relax’ part of the song, taking loads of tropes of relaxation and self-care (ASMR, clean eating, houseplants etc.) and pushing them to a place of deep discomfort.”

Popcaan – “Skeleton Cartier”

Making us feel like we are at the very height of summer, Jamaican trailblazer Popcorn releases his glowing new single “Skelton Cartier”. As the first verse drops, it is near impossible not to surrender to the artists hip-swaying R&B beat. “This song is about how I was feeling after I ordered myself a Skeleton Cartier watch for my birthday,” Popcaan explains. “This was possible because I put in the work. The aim is always to be richer — in more ways than one!”

FloFilz and Jerome Thomas – “Sensitive”

No Wonderlist is complete without a show-stopping collaboration, so may we present Jerome Thomas and Berlin-based producer FloFilz and their new release, “Sensitive”. Serving all the lo-fi vibes we could need for the weekend, the duo pair Jerome’s glossy vocals with FloFilz’s ear for jazz blended with hip-hop, creating a flirtatious melody which we will be playing on loop for the foreseeable.

Liv Harland – “Letters”

And finally, doing it for the heartbroken girls, Liv Harland makes a meteoric comeback with her stick-it-to-your-ex single “Letters”. Over a sugar-sweet melody, Liv’s candied vocals sing of the turmoil that follows a breakup, yet thanks to the uplifting beats — leaves listeners hopeful for the future. On the release, Liv says, “It’s been over a year since I released new music and I’m so proud to come back with this single! Heading over to Copenhagen to record with Cutfather was a highlight to my 2021 and now I’m ready to show the world what I’ve been working on. I hope you guys love it as much as I do. This song is for anyone who let go of their past and got over an ex.”
