“I usually look for something that scares me, that’s the first sign that I’m on the right track, and that’s just because it’s something I haven’t done before and something I don’t know if I can do. With these roles, specifically, there’s a lot of pressure. And the big part of the process with Selina for me was letting all of that fade away, and really having my own relationship with her. After reading the script for the first time, I really felt like I knew who this person was, and I felt actually quite protective of her. There’s so much more to her than being this femme fatale, this sexy character, that Matt had incorporated into her story and I really want to just make sure that came through. She’s tough, and it’s really exciting to see a female character like that in a movie like this, I really wanted to honour that.”

Entering Gotham City as the new Catwoman/Selina Kyle – one of the most iconic fictional characters of all time – Zoë Kravitz takes on her biggest role to date in director Matt Reeves’ unique vision of the Gotham underbelly.

Covering our Spring 2022 issue, Zoë Kravitz talks to her The Batman co-star, Robert Pattinson, on how they prepared for their new roles, working with director Matt Reeves, and why this Batman film is different from the rest.
