What better way for an artist to celebrate a new musical era than with a full re-brand? Well, artist Ola is doing just that by reintroducing himself as Brother Leo as he drops his debut album, PoP Poetry [pt.1]. While the pop maverick’s sound features all of the classic components of a pop project, including sweet-toned vocals and the twang of acoustic instrumentation, a deliciously inventive air washes over the project, ensuring that it becomes a sonic experience unlike any other.

“I’m just trying to be as free and honest as possible in everything I do whether it’s in my lyrics, soundscapes or visuals,” explains Leo when discussing the project. “We are all prisms with a thousand colours, and I wanted to express as many of mine as possible on this album. It’s more honest and inspiring that way. When I listen to all the songs I’ve written for this album, it’s about everything from escapism, betrayal and instant love to questioning God, the society and myself. Brother Leo is mainly about creative freedom to me.”

With the new project also standing as the promise of a second album drop later this year, and features from the likes of Neiked and Fat Boy Slim proving that his artistry attracts big industry players, it is fair to say that we cannot wait to see what Brother Leo will do next!
