If you were to ask anyone from our generation, The Parent Trap is likely to be in the top five of their childhood-defining film list. And if you were to ask those very same people what music has pulled them through their late teens into early twenties, it would undoubtedly include the cut-throat rapping of Megan Thee Stallion. In the name of nostalgia and innovation, those two versions of ourselves collide: as the Houston-based artist joins the cast of A24’s musical comedy F*cking Identical Twins — a spin-off of the cult classic Lindsey Lohan picture.

Megan Thee Stallion will be swapping writing lines for reciting them alongside the likes of Bowen Yang, Megan Mullally, Nathan Lane and more. Staying in tune with her reputation for effortless wit, her acting debut will be immersed within an R-rated movie musical comedy which follows two business rivals who realise they are actually identical twins. Staying true to its inspirations plot line, the brothers decide to switch places in the hopes of reuniting their divorced parents.

On the announcement of her casting, Megan says, “I’m so excited I feel so blessed I feel anxious lol I feel a bunch of shit. I really have been quietly putting in this work and I just can’t wait for the hotties to see everything.” If it’s possible, we are even more excited than Megan herself, and on top of her recent “Flamin’ Hottie” release, it’s fair to say thee hotties have been well and truly spoiled for content.
