You’ve seen behind-the-scenes photos and letters from Lady Whistledown herself, but now the teaser trailer for the second season of Bridgerton is here, and the knives and feather pens are sharper than ever. Though audiences are now in the knowledge that the ambiguous narrator is Penelope Featherington, the pursuit for love continues on — but this time, it’s Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s turn to meet his match.

Hosting a global event for Bridgerton super fans, Netflix and Shondaland revealed never before seen clips and unveiled the first official teaser for the shows second season. Favoured for its scandal, romance and artful plots, the teaser assures Bridgerton lovers that no drama will go to waste, even with the masterful puppeteer being somewhat unmasked.

As Penelope signs off the teaser with her sinister warning, the message is loud and clear. Much like Lady Whistledown, the second series has honed its skills for surprising its audience. With the new lens from which we view the story, it will prove to be more targeted and vengeful than ever.
