At this point, you’re probably starting the frantic search for the perfect place to spend your Valentine’s. We hate to gloat, but we started a long time ago — and luckily for you, we have some recommendations. Apothecary – an East London bar and restaurant – was at the very top of our list, promising to delight both the senses as well as your date with its welcoming speak-easy aesthetic. Serving a delectable Japanese-inspired menu, you can enjoy a playlist of love-themed tunes curated personally by Spiritland programmer and live DJ, Miche. With a special cocktail experience available for good measure, Apothecary has left no rose petal unturned to offer an evening of sheer luxury and romance.

Located in an old Victorian warehouse that offers equal measures of decadence and debauchery, the ambience is effortlessly set with sultry low-lighting, open fireplaces and plush seating. The carefully curated menu, which prices at £45 per head, includes a modest choice of 12 Japanese-inspired small plates ranging from appetisers and sushi rolls to tempura, fish, meat and vegetable dishes. Examples of the delicacies include Salmon avocado sushi rolls, grilled cauliflower with truffle sesame and teriyaki chicken thigh skewers. For drinks, guests can choose from an ample list of wines, Japanese beers and sake. To finish, each person can round off their meal with a rich chocolate torte topped with a zesty passionfruit jelly.

Apothecary is located on Charlotte road, with their Valentine’s experience beginning on February 14th from 5pm. So whether you’re arranging your ideal valentines gathering, or looking to delight on a date, head to apothecaryeast.co.uk to book your table now.
