Where: Andaz London Liverpool Street
If you’re ever looking for anything to do this Valentines’, the place to be is the Andaz London Liverpool Street for its Creative in Residence exhibition. Exploring the history of the site, Stefan Sieler’s exhibition takes a look into the building’s many-layered history and modern aesthetic. From the grunge and seductive pieces to the gritty storytelling, the exhibition is an absolute must. From 14th – 20th February, 11am-8pm.

Wearing: Basliq’s Bronx Blazer and Pants
If you are reading this on a Friday afternoon, as I suspect you are, I will be OOO, basking in all of the glory a day off provides – albeit a slightly hungover day off. “Why?”, I hear you ask! Well, as a certified pandemic graduate, I was yet to don my cap and gown and experience the joys of a graduation ceremony, despite departing from uni in 2022, until this week. And, I could think of no better person to dress me for the occasion than Basliq. An interview subject-turned-friend, founder and designer Aamaan suggested the Bronx Blazer and Pants set. A sharp marigold coloured suit, crafted from a beautiful cotton material, the suit is eye-catching as it is beautiful. And, with the brand’s signature silver arrow-shaped motif providing the sparkle presents itself. It is fair to say that I will be stepping across that stage in style!

Watching: Euphoria
Let’s be real, my watching portion of the week is everyone’s watching portion of the week, including our Editor, Ella who enjoys joining me in exchanging excitable updates on each Euphoria episode upon each release day. From the incomparable cinematography of Sam Levinson, which I found out via TikTok is coming to us from a discontinued Kodak Ektachrome motion picture film, to the visceral portrayal of teen hood in America from the likes of Zendaya and Alexa Demie, the show has me, and the entire world, hooked. With me and my friends dedicated to finding a guy as dreamy as Fez and adopting the newly-coined ‘Maddy energy’, it is safe to say that the Euphoria obsession is alive and well, and it has me in a firm chokehold.

Using: Heatless Curling Headband
Now I am well aware that I’m around 2,000 TikTok trends too late to the party, but my overly bleached hair was literally screaming for an alternative to my usual hot curling tongs. So, I finally purchased the silky curling headband that has had every woman up and down the globe going to bed looking like Little-Bo-Peep. I’ll admit, it is really difficult to get the hang of, with my first few attempts ending in me violently ripping it out in the early hours of the morning. However, with patience, perseverance and practise, I have grown to love the heatless curling method, and my hair has since thanked me greatly for it.

Drinking: Homemade Bubble Tea
I have a very similar relationship with bubble tea that Euphoria’s Kat has with piña coladas, and with my new WFH schedule kicking into gear, I’ve really been missing my trips to London to get my boba fix. This week, I have turned to the professionals of BBC Good Food, and have perfected the recipe for a matcha milk tea, finished with tapioca balls. With the tapioca available to bulk buy for cheap, I’ll be sipping happily from the comfort of my sofa.

Wearing: Doll Beauty Blush
2022 marks the third year that I’ve gone without a sunny holiday, and to say my skin tone is lacking lustre would be an extreme nicety. It is for these reasons I have developed an intimate relationship with my blusher, which has quickly become my favourite item in my makeup bag. When I ran out of my beloved Charlotte Tilbury Cheek To Chic palette, I was close to tears — namely caused by the £30 price-tag. Then, on my routine trip to Boots, I discovered the drug store’s best kept secret: Doll Beauty. The blush is under half the price of my usual, and is so pigmented, you only use a light dusting for a full application. With a creamy texture and a ridiculously cute compact, it really is one of the best products I’ve tried. If peach tones compliment you best, “Take Me To The Peach” is your match made in heaven.
