In response, founder Guccio Gucci, with the accomplice of the house’s visionary Florentine artisans, forged their handbag handles from lightweight bamboo. The slick yet earthy article has since become one of the brands most recognisable features. It is both timeless and sophisticated, elegant yet edgy.

In an effort to pay tribute to the emblem as well as the lasting legacy of Guccio Gucci himself, The Gucci Bamboo 1947 is a love letter to the original design. Reimagined through a contemporary lens, the new version now features an interchangeable strap, which can be swapped with exceptionally crafted leather and/or web straps — offering its owner even more versatility and accessibility. Boasting a round pillow-esque silhouette, the top handle bag is available to purchase in three sizes: medium, small and mini.
