Starting off our new music Friday right is indie-pop duo River with kick-back track “Someday”. With the first few bars igniting a compulsive need to set off on a roofless road trip across a seafront in the middle of January, River incorporate their indie style with a tangible retro groove while tapping into various experimental elements. Despite the melancholic narrative of the fourth single, which sheds light on the mundanity of life, the catchy nostalgic climbs and 80’s inspired synths infuse the track with the standalone feeling that eventually, “Someday”, everything will be better.

Dropping today, the duo hope the track will resonate with its listeners: posing as both a tribute to the painful yet powerful effects of our memories, as well as the simplicity of the possibility of a tomorrow.
