2022 FILM REUNIONS

From Twilight to Hairspray and Superbad, here are the casts we want to see reunite in 2022

2022 started off correctly: with the scenes of the cast of Harry Potter reuniting in a 20th anniversary special, brimming with nostalgic bliss. And, while the HBO feature has given us plenty to reminisce about, that is not to say that we aren’t secretly hoping that this recent reunion has inspired other famous casts, looking to celebrate a milestone this year, to do the exact same. With this in mind, head below to enjoy our round-up of the celebs and co-stars we want to see reunite in 2022…

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

More of Emma Watson on our screens in 2022, please! While she may be most known for her stellar portrayal of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, another movie that cemented the British actress amongst some of the brightest stars in Hollywood was The Perks of Being a Wallflower. With Watson joining Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller 10 years ago on the big screen for the gritty coming-of-age display adapted from the beloved book of the same name, the movie left an overwhelming impact on a generation of teens, one that is still being felt to this day.

The Avengers

When it comes to one of the greatest casts of the past 10 years, the mind instantly wonders to those that starred in The Avengers. With Marvel calling on the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans to form the ultimate superhero alliance in a movie franchise that went on to dominate the box office and captivate global audiences with its action-packed plots and humour-meets-drama approach to script writing, it would only be fair to celebrate this anniversary, right? And, while it has not been that long since we have officially seen this collective on the screen together, any excuse to see the incomparable actors side by side is good enough for us!

Pitch Perfect

If you are trying to tell us that watching Anna Kendrick in the now-iconic riff-off scene from Pitch Perfect back in 2012 didn’t single-handedly inspire you to form an a capella group with your gals, we know that you are lying. This is our official petition to bring back The Barden Bellas in 2022!

Twilight

Breaking Dawn
Breaking Dawn

Let’s be real, it has been 10-years-too-long since we saw the cast of Twilight on our screens. With the final instalment of the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn Part 2, gracing our screens a decade ago this year, it is fair to say that the stans would greatly appreciate a sit-down interview with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, reminiscing on their time spent on the set of the iconic films.

The Hunger Games

It wouldn’t be fair to mention one fan girl fantasy realm without mentioning the other. With this year marking 10 year’s since Jeniffer Lawrence exploded onto our screens in the intense teenage drama, The Hunger Games, we think a reunion with its star-studded cast is in order.

Hairspray

Who would we be if we didn’t include an all-singing cast in this round-up? When it comes to musicals that defined the 2000s, Hairspray sits at the top of the list. With the likes of Nikki Blonsky, Amanda Bynes and, of course, Zac Efron filling out the film’s magical list of stars, it is fair to say that a reunion would be just what we needed to get us through another COVID-filled year. Also, if the cast wanted to provide us with an on-screen serenade, we wouldn’t be mad about it at all.

Superbad

Many comedies have graced our screens over the years, and many will do the same in the future, but it is fair to state that it will be an overwhelming achievement if any of them manage to dominate the pop culture sphere quite like Superbad. Turning 15 this year, the irreverent comedy is an unapologetic portrayal of teenhood, based on stories from screenplay writers’ Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg pasts, featuring the likes of Jonah Hill, Seth Rogan and Michael Cera in its cast – aka Hollywood’s ultimate funny men. McLovin will be all grown up now, and we would love to know what he is up to in 2022!
