With the new year coming at us full force, we’re in need of some smoothing immersive sounds to guide us through, and electronica dup Ready, Steady Die! are providing the goods with their new cover of Soft Cell’s “Say Hello, Wave Goodbye”. Gently taking us through a ballad-like soundscape filled with retro-tinged synths and airy vocals, the duo beautifully pays homage to the era that inspired them, while adding contemporary touches of electronic.

“As 80s kids, both of us have an enduring love for the synth pop new wave movement that arrived at that time,” the duo revealed.   “Marc Almond and David Ball, in their creation of Soft Cell, pioneered the scene with the arrival of their debut album Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret and it’s a piece of work that parked up alongside our lives and has been there ever since.”

Already in the preparation stages for their sophomore album due for release this spring, the duo are further set to explore their roots with the project, sonically taking their sound to a different level. With live shows and more music on the horizon, 2022 is shaping up to be a huge year for the team.
