With 2021 coming to an end, many of us are taking the time to reflect on the past 12 months and the events that have defined them. And, when it comes to the world of fashion, 2021 will now and forever be known as the year of collaborative collections and the newly coined term hacking. Two of the biggest names to embrace the fashion world’s newfound love of all things collaborative were Gucci and The North Face, who caused a buzz earlier this year with their monogram-laden cuts and irresistible display of elevated outdoor wear. Looking to further this legacy, the pair now announce The North Face x Gucci: Chapter 2.
Drawing inspiration for its wildly adored first collection, the duo are ensuring that the new line is one steeped in messages of self-expression and discovery. With the bold branding making its return, as monograms and logos meet in perfect harmony, the collection situates itself one perfect for the hype beast and fashion-obsessed. But, the adventure inclined will also be satisfied as vibrant weather-resilient puffer jackets and sturdy boots prevail, true to The North Face’s 90s outdoor aesthetic. And, while the collection’s design and ethos are truly impressive, its integration of ECONYL, a sustainable fabric made from repurposed material scraps, makes this all the more certain.
And, what better way to enjoy the new collection than with a nature-bound campaign video. Taking to the ethereal landscapes of Iceland, celebrated twins-turned-creative duo, Jalan and Jibril Durimel, chose a breathtaking backdrop, synonymous with the core messaging on the collection, from which to capture it.
