Looking to amp up the anticipation surrounding their upcoming album, Sportswear, indie trio Hot Flash Heat Wave unveil their newest track, “Where I’m @”. Standing as a slice of sonic heaven, the track boasts electrically-charged synths and warped production that are sure to soothe the soul. And, to make the track all the more beautiful, we are also treated to a dose of the band’s stellar vocal range, one that has been responsible for hurtling the collective towards the helm of their genre.

‘Where I’m @’ is about love, growth, and the willingness to accept change. I think it’s an important song because part of any healthy relationship is a willingness to listen and try to meet the other’s needs better and one of the greatest gifts someone can give you is seeing and working with you as you are, to work and grow together. It’s a personal story about a relationship that taught me a lot about myself – and ultimately the hardest lesson I had to learn as that relationship ended was to be alright being on my own rather than seeking solace from someone else. I was inspired by Stevie Wonder’s honest vulnerability in his music and the hopeful joyous feeling of true acceptance, which I felt from another and am working to feel toward myself,” explains the band when discussing the track.

But, while the drop of a new cut from the band is exciting enough, that is not where the good news ends. With a tour spanning North America, the UK and Europe on the horizon and the promise of new music hanging in the air, it becomes clear that we will be seeing more of Hot Flash Heat Wave very soon.
