While you may have thought that Taylor Swift had already peaked for the week, thanks to the warmly-received release of Red (Taylor’s Version) and the heart-wrenching visuals that spilt out of All Too Well: The Short Film, the pop sensation is back again to confirm that she is not done brewing up worldwide hype as she unveils the visuals for the track, “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version)”.
Proving once again that the price paid for breaking her heart is her forever-lingering presence courtesy of breakup anthems and masterful music videos, Taylor’s latest visuals are a revenge-spiked ode to her exes, which are as equally hilarious as they are moving. With the star seemingly crashing her exes wedding, who is played by the incomparable Miles Teller, the music video sees her step into the role of a waitress, wedding singer and guest, whose mere presence taunts the groom. As the video hits its climax, a wedding dress-clad Taylor enters into the figment of Miles’ imagination, all before her outfit and surroundings bleed into a deep red as he realises the true errors of his past. Directed by Taylor’s dear friend and Hollywood’s darling, Blake Lively, the project becomes all the more hype-worthy and intimate as it is made clear that the artist’ current era will be dedicated to both the re-recording of her most famed projects as well as dreaming up cinematic masterpieces to accompany them.
Standing as further proof of Taylor’s current return to the helm of the zeitgeist, it is fair to say that we will be re-watching “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version)” all day long whilst basking in the knowledge that we are not on of Taylor’s exes waking up to this music video today.
