Baring all with her new intimate single is Julia Lostrom with “Walk Away”. Through the R&B-tinged melodies and warming lyricism, the artist intricately crafts her contemporary soundscape, while tapping into hypnotic rhythms and electronica undertones. Honing in on her vocals and laying each break with angelic moments, the artist brings us into her dark and mysterious world, while skilfully remaining seductive.

Speaking on the release, the artist said, “It started with Max sending me a beat late one night and from the second I heard it I was obsessed. I wrote the entire melody that night and let it sit for weeks. I couldn’t bring myself to write the song for a while. I knew what I wanted to write about but didn’t want to deal with the emotions that were going to come up with it. I then had a session with my friend Blush’ko to work on some new music we’d been writing together and showed him the gibberish melody I’d recorded over Max’s beat. We ended up writing the whole song together in his studio that day. He has no idea how much I needed that session, but this song wouldn’t be what it is without those two.”

Pulling on a variety of inspirations, from her background to her hometown of Melbourne, the artist has been crafting out her own lane over the years, while capturing the attention of BBC and Apple Music. With more music on the horizon, we say keep a close eye on the rising star.
