If like us, you had a fashion-shaped hole in your hearts as September drew to a close, the news that 080 Barcelona Fashion’s Fashion Week was to commence at the end of October would have been music to your ears. And, for good reason.

Commencing between the 25th and 28th of October, the campaign looked to spotlight the best in emerging and established talents currently making waves in the Spanish fashion scene. And, this is exactly what the event offered up to onlookers across the globe, as brands such as The Real Garcia, Alvaro Calafat and Martin Across took to various runways in a bid to unveil their newly dreamed up collections.

Head below to enjoy a round-up of some of the stand our shows from this year’s 080 Barcelona Fashion’s Fashion Week…

If psychedelic knits and dreamy pastel colour palettes are what you’re after, Matin Across’ latest collection is the thing for you. Aptly named On The Fragile Nature Of Life, the collection looked to the wonders of earth tones and the forever changing nature of the elements as multi-coloured knitted vests boasting patterns akin to those of soft-toned sedimentary layers met animated accessories that hoped to capture the essence of a windy day. And, with each piece having been crafted in the heart of Ecuador, the collection became all the more impressive.

This season, designer Alvaro Calafat looked to invite us into a world filled with their most vivid and intimate memories with the collection Chapter Two-Recuerdo. Reminiscing on times gone by, the label looked to create a genderless collection that offers those who wear the pieces to not only gain an insight into the designer’s past but also encourages them to reflect on their own. And, whilst extravagant lamp shade-esque shoulder structures laying over fluid figure-hugging dresses and electric orange woven gowns hoped to strike those who feasted their eyes on them, that is not to say that the intimacy of each piece was lost.

Bringing the funk, flare and all things fun to 080 Barcelona’s latest Fashion Week was the Womenswear brand, Is Coming. An ode to the city-bound woman, the collection looked to blend comfort with style in a bid to ensure that every person that chooses to wear it can embrace the personal nature of femininity freely. And, what is more perfect for the urban woman than a line of easily-adaptable day-to-night looks? Featuring gowns perfect for the transitions between the office and party life, the collection situates itself as one that has been thoroughly thought out.

If there ever was a collection to perfectly embody the essence of glamour, it would be Avellaneda’s latest display. Undeniably party-ready and a sensory delight thanks to the feature of abstract animal print and sequins galore, the Mon Coeur Bat La Chamade collection oozes 70s grandeur and offered tailoring of the highest quality. Best described by the brand itself as a display of “contemporary elegance”, it is clear that should you have an occasion to celebrate, Avellaneda is the only name to turn to.

Looking to keep things cool and classic this season was The (Real) Garcia with their most recent Men’s collection. Harking on lockdown dressing and the power of clean-cut streetwear, the Spanish label proved that less is more as neutral tones and timeless silhouettes ran rife. Watch out Yeezy, it looks like you have some competition!

Ending this round-up with a bang is Custo Barcelona, the brand curated by the Dalmau brothers that is currently looking to empower shoppers with its affirmation-centric collection. Looking to embody the mantra, “I am the Power”, a bold collection reared its head as causual met sexy as if it was kismet, resulting in an array of barely-there evening attire cuts and a display of sporty sensibilities done right.
