Let’s be real, we have all found ourselves in that gut-wrenching position of realising that the person we are obsessing over is not reciprocating the same energy. Well, instead of letting that harsh reality get to her, as it does with most others, artist on the rise Inés Rae has used it as the foundation for her latest track, “Don’t Say It”.

Whilst the song boasts a deeply emotional message, which makes its presence known thanks to Inés’ soul-baring and heartbreak-centric lyrics, that is not to say that it is all doom and gloom when it comes to the artist’s new track. Featuring her syrupy tone and infectious hooks, the artist ensures that “Don’t Say It” taps into the pop’s repeat worthy nature as it perfectly embodies the beloved genre.

“This song is about how actions speak louder than words – in this case being led on by someone who says all the right things, but when you arrange to meet at the party, they show up late and don’t even pay you any attention,” explains Inés. “This will resonate with many I think – ‘Don’t say it, if you don’t mean it’ – after all, there’s nothing worse than easy and false promises that come to nothing. It’s my way of saying that playing with emotions is never ok. I like to write songs about relatable experiences – to tunes you can’t get out of your head.”
