It’s not unheard of for actors to make the switch from the silver screen to behind the scenes, which the likes of Regina King, Tyler Perry and Angelina Jolie all making the switch. And now joining the ranks of these multi-faceted talents is Kristen Stewart with The Chronology of Water. Based on Lidia Yuknavitch’s memoir of the same name, the book takes us through the author’s troubled upbringing through her pursuit of beauty and self-expression.

According to the book’s official synopsis, the story navigates a life that transcends through abuse, addiction, self-destruction the crushing loss of a still-born child.

Still very much in the early stage of production, Stewart is currently casting for the lead role of Lidia and has stated in an interview with Variety that Lidia’s story is more relevant than ever and they are still trying to find investment for the project.
