It’s Friday, and the clubs are calling our names. Getting us in the right mood with her retro-tinged single is Coco and the Lost with “Crying in the Bathroom”. Filled the infectious effervescent energy and riotous guitar-led melodies, the artist builds a kaleidoscopic soundscape around her signature vocals, leading us into a world packed with electronic beats and synths.
Created to be blasted loud and hard during those peak party moments, the artist channels old school Brit-pop vibes for her latest single, stretching her vocals across a twinkling yet hard-as-nails production.
Speaking on the track, the artist said, “The song started off as an acoustic ballad, then I realised I didn’t want it to be sad. I had been listening to a lot of Pulp at the time and have always loved how Jarvis Cocker delivers lines and writes lyrics. I tried to embrace that in this song and as an artist in general. It’s sad and dramatic and fun.”
