Creating a debut album isn’t easy, but making it look effortless with his impassioned project is Desmond Myers with Shadowdancer. Gently ushering us into his evocative world with emotional-driven productions and heart-warming melodies, the artist soothingly croons over-simplistic beats. Touching on everything from temptation to self-discovery, the artist takes us on a compelling journey for this debut project, putting his raw and honest story on full display. From the mellow and soul-stirring “Playing with Fire” to the synth-tinged “Feels Like I’m Running”, Myers puts his creativity at the forefront of the project and presents an album that pays homage to his own self-acceptance.

Accompanying the release of the album with a mysterious visual for the funk-fuelled “Shadows”, Myers ties the album together with the David Nobles-directed video and provides deeper context to the overall project.

“‘Shadows’ is a song I wrote after being frustrated with overthinking,” the artist revealed. “I can be a very cerebral person at times and I wanted to make a song that got me out of my own head. I had been making a lot of mid-tempo music about things that were very personal to me and I just wanted to make something to shake those feelings off to. It ended up being just as vulnerable of an experience as those other songs. It was like treating myself through song, which is its own unique kind of vulnerability.”
