As sad as it might be, summer is over. Long gone are the days of endless bathing in the scorching sun and the countless spontaneous moments. And while we may have our memories of this year to get us through the burgeoning winter months, the one thing that we are also holding onto is Tottenham-hailed rapper Jordy’s debut project “SMH”. Released earlier this year, the 26-year-old serves up a plethora of point-blank honest tracks filled with cheeky lyricism and nostalgic productions.
From the melancholic “Dark & Light” to the introspective “Therapist”, the artist intricately showcases his versatility while propelling himself into eerie yet wistful soundscapes. Consistently tempting us into his poetic reality, the artist has continued to deliver exceptional releases and his latest video for “Feel Right Now” is no different.
Dropping the video today, Jordy’s latest cut introduces us to soul-drenched melodies and afrobeat-tinged productions, creating a heady fusion that warms us throughout. Candidly and artistically, the artist soothingly delivers confessions and truths across an idyllic production, while slowly fading across the hazy beat.
Pouring the same retro-hued emotions into the accompanying video, the rapper eagerly draws us into an intimate setting where 90s aesthetics and evocative visuals rule the scene. Speaking on the video, the rapper said, “My favourite video to make so far cause I got to try something completely different than what Im used too.”
Already known in the scene for his contributions to rising collective Vibbar and football series FilthyFellas, the emcee has already accomplished huge career highlights – from his appearance on Ghetts’ project to featuring alongside Kojey Radical. With more music on the way, it’ll be interesting to see where the next year will take Jordy.
