The opening of a new hotel is always a moment to celebrate. And, knowing this, when the Mondrian Shoreditch looked toward opening its new doors, they knew it had to be an affair as magnificent as their newly renovated interior. And, that is exactly what the establishment managed to pull off with their grand opening this week.
Unveiling its refurbished interiors to London’s elite, the east London-based establishment put on a glamorous affair filled with bubbling champagne, refreshing sangria cocktails and sumptuous Spanish cuisine courtesy of Dani Garcia of the Bibo restaurant. And, while the food and drinks were flowing, that was only the beginning of the festivities. Kicking off the celebrations one evening prior, an auction hosted by the Reuben Foundation and nonprofit incubator Fashion East in the name of generating funds to assist young creatives disrupted by the pandemic set the tone of the week’s events. All hosted within the 120-bedroom building that boasts an infectiously buzzy atmosphere and brassy finishes, each celebration became as opulent as the room that housed it.
And while all of the above was enough to warrant the hotel’s opening one of the biggest of the season, its star-studded array of attendees only helped to confirm this. With the likes of Naughty Boy and India Rose James taking a visit to the hotel, which hosted a surprise performance from none other than Hot Chip, the opening proved itself to be one to remember.
