This past year might have felt like a stimulation with global pandemics and lockdowns, but now we’re about to enter one with the return of The Matrix. 15 years since the last film, Warner Bros has dropped the highly anticipated trailer for the fourth installment titled The Matrix: Resurrections – and it’s looking interesting.
Featuring clips of Neo (Keanu Reeves)and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), the trailer introduces us to the world after The Matrix whereby things are looking very different. From Neil Patrick Harris playing the role of Neo’s therapist to a young Morpheus played by franchise newcomer Yahya Abdul-Mateen, we’re thrown into a whole new world where anything goes.
Still keeping the premise of the film under wraps, the trailer doesn’t give away too much on what we can expect from the upcoming film. But what we do know is that it is going to provide buckets of nostalgia as black cats, dojo fights scenes and the classic white rabbit re-telling is all seen.
Directed and written by Lana Wachowski, the film is set to arrive in theatres on December 22nd.
