International success is a desired achievement for many aspiring musicians, but for Chelsea Singh, it is a reality. From gracing iconic venues such as Ministry Of Sound and Ocean Beach with his consuming party beats to working alongside the likes of Boy George and Carl Cox, the multi-facet has reached the heights of industry success over the course of his seasoned career. Now, looking to fellow DJ and producer Rob Tissera, Chelsea hopes to get his listeners back to dancing with the reverberative production and groove-inducing beat drops that feature on his new project, “Make You Whole”.
When speaking on his newest track, Chelsea claimed, “the inspiration for that track, which is available now on Beatport, came from one of my favourite tracks of all time growing up, and I used to hear this at all the clubs, dance to it all night, and that is one of the tracks that stood out to me in my head.”
Upon the release of “Make Me Whole”, the DJ sat down with Wonderland to talks his biggest achievements and who inspired his journey into music. Head below to read our interview with Chelsea Singh…
Talk us through your upbringing! Was it very music orientated?
No, my upbringing wasn’t very music orientated, but I knew from a young age that I really loved music! What I used to do was steal my dad’s radio and listen to the top 40 hits over the weekend!
What drew you to DJing specifically? Who do you look up to musically?
Jamie Jones. That is who I look up to musically.
Congratulations on your upcoming track, “Make You Whole”! Can you talk us through the track’s inspiration?
The inspiration for that track, which is available now on Beatport, came from one of my favourite tracks of all time growing up, and I used to hear this at all the clubs, dance to it all night, and that is one of the tracks that stood out to me in my head.
