What better way to offer a social comment than through the medium of song? Well, this is exactly what experimental singer-songwriter HĒIR is doing with track “Nobody Wants Me”. Filled with sun-kissed pop sensibilities, the relaxed strum of the guitars and rattle of drums culminate in the song’s serene sound. And, while the artist’s sickly-sweet vocals allude to the track being an overtly positive offering, the profound lyrics that tackle the perceptions of others and the pressures of appearances give the project an undeniable depth.

“‘Nobody Wants Me’ came after years of realising everybody wants what they see on a filtered platform,” explains HĒIR. “Everybody wants the happy life you showcase and that perfect version of ourselves we all portray. It’s when real life hits that sometimes people don’t stay. Everyone’s there for the party and nobody’s there for the cleanup. We are all so complex, there’s no such thing as complicated or not complicated, the more we experience the more we come with a history and not everybody is willing to understand and hold your hand through it all. Everyone wants you but they want the idea they have of you. I partnered up with Fudasca on this track sent the demo to him and he jumped on it immediately. It basically becomes a LIGHTWEIGHT HAPPY song with a bit of a sad subject.”

Accompanied by light-hearted visuals in which the artist can be seen stepping into the roles of a weather girl and Oscar winner, the artist playfully mocks the tough subjects that lie at the heart of her latest track. And, with her shimmering new offering joining her warmly-received debut EP “Daddy Issues”, it is clear that the young star is on a path to musical domination.
