While Fridays normally call for thumping eccentric sounds and party-ready anthems, we’re taking a more calming approach this week and blasting James Smith’s new single “Got The Love”. Following on from his EP “The District Line EP”, Smith delicately displays a maturity beyond his years on the track, as he opens up on mental well-being and the pressures of today. Crooning over a compelling guitar-led melody, the singer brings an array of voices to the track for the emotionally charged chorus, creating a comforting soundscape that instantly warms you.

Speaking on the track, the artist said, “ I wrote it for my brother and my closest friends. I’ve found that a lot of younger people nowadays, including myself, are struggling a lot with the pressures of today, such as social media etc.”

Keeping the same energy for the accompanying video, the artist details four separate narratives, as we see a variety of people from all walks of life overcome their own personal struggles. Already known as one of the UK’s most promising talents, we’re expecting nothing but success in James’ future.
