After what feels like months of anticipation and countless teasers, the full-length trailer for Dune has finally dropped – and it was worth the wait.

Based on the 1965 Frank Herbert novel of the same name, Dune has been credited as the inspiration for a generation of science fiction and fantasy storytelling. The book takes us through Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), the son of a noble family tasked with protecting “the spice” – the most available substance in the universe.

Opening up with an ethereal monologue from Zendaya, the trailer quickly descended into scenes of sandy fires and battle gear-clad warriors as a sinister tone is set. Fans can enjoy the view of Oscar Isaac, Timothée Chalamet and Jason Momoa bringing Herbert’s vision to life with fierce battle sequences, extravagant scenery and vast deserts as the tagline promises that the film will be “a mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey.” And, to the delight of movie fans everywhere, as the trailer reaches a climax, a fleeting look at a tender moment between Timmy and Zendaya alludes to an on-screen romance worthy of breaking the internet.

With the film slated for release this December and this magnificent trailer causing anticipation to rise, it is safe to say that we’ve already booked our cinema tickets.
