The sun is out, Love Island is back and it just might be coming home – all is well in the world. The only thing we’re missing is a summer anthem to soundtrack it all and LA-hailed duo Nitefire are placing their bid with their new infectious banger “Uptight”. Filled with eccentric energy and early noughties indie-pop sensibilities, the duo ride the guitar-heavy production with ease, catching every riff and solo. In a flurry, the power-pop duo easily navigates us through an array of ear-ringing instruments before closing the feverous single with a retro-tinged guitar solo. Accompanying the release with an equally as fun video, the high school friends deliver a grainy visual that encapsulates everything about their sound.

Made up of Luke and Nico, the duo have already taken their sounds to new heights gaining over 20k streams on Spotify alone. With more music rumored to be on the way, we can expect the duo to do huge numbers in the months to follow.
