The tumultuous events of the last year are set to inspire creative industries for years to come. And, proving this to be the case is pop artist Leif Bent as he unveils his reflective ballad “O.K.”. Drenched in raw emotions, the Berlin-born artist leaves nothing unsaid as punchy lyrics stating “I am not O.K.” are carried by his moody vocals. Filled with vibrating synths met with consuming silences and the trickle of rain, the song is a musical description of the forever-fluctuating feelings most experienced during the pandemic. And, with this immaculate pop tune having been pulled from Bent’s latest EP, fans can immerse themselves in the artist’s lockdown experiences whilst listening to the 5-part project.

“The EP is fully self-written, produced, mixed and mastered during quarantine in 2020 and therefore represents the different facets of what I felt over the past year,” explains the artist when speaking on the inspiration behind his latest project.”It’s my unbiased creative expression of the music that I wanted to make at that time. I wrote most of the songs at my studio in Berlin, while ‘Different’ was written at a cabin in Switzerland where I went in summer 2020 to reset from all that corona madness.”

Having made his beginnings in music at the age of 6 and then going on to build a career in which he split his time between Toronto, London, Berlin and Hamburg whilst recording, it it evident that the artist’s natural flair for crafting irresistible pop tunes is born out of an unwavering dedication to his craft. With his latest EP featuring the newly released track “O.K., ” the artist is set to catapult in the pop industry, and become a force to be reckoned with.
