Shopping: Vagabond’s Eyra Mules
For the sake of pure summer laziness, I love a slip-on, but will also screw my face at anything that remotely veers on a clog or is overly fussy. Thankfully, the latest drop from Swedish shoe stalwarts Vagabond is straight out of my dreams: mean square mules that mean business. Out of the drop, there’s the structured loafer/mule hybrid Alex W, but my bag is the Eyra. The buttery leather, boxy square-toe and chunky sole is so violently anti-frill my eyes literally roll back every time I slide them on.

Eating: Tigre Tacos
2015 was the year I sank my teeth into salsa verde-smothered fish tacos on a beach in Tulum, and thus, my love affair with Mexican food was born. Undoubtedly up there with one of the more basic statements to have ever left my mouth, but I digress! Ever since then I’ve been trying to emulate the aforementioned deliciousness, and last week I came mighty close in the form of Tigre Tacos’ permanent pub residency at Clerkenwell’s The Gunmakers. We knocked back margaritas and fiery mezcalitas while enjoying a spread of spicy Octopus tostadas, heavenly Baja fish tacos and local oysters with El Tigre’s hibiscus vinaigrette.

Drinking: Provisions
In the last couple of years you might have noticed a massive surge in the popularity of natural wine along with a host of purported benefits. Better for your health. Better for the environment. Also just truly fucking delicious. So imagine my delight when I discovered that North London natural wine experts Provisions have dropped a monthly subscription featuring lesser-known grapes, hand-picked from small suppliers, straight to your door. Even though I’m going to miss my nightly dalliances with the fridge section of my corner shop, I’m not ashamed to say I’ve already chugged through a case of the orange skin-contact variety from the likes of Burgundy, Rhône, Gascony and Slovakia.

Listening: The Gayest New Music Friday Ever
I actually found myself a tad stumped on my morning Twitter scroll when, out of nowhere, Kylie Minogue’s cover of “Marry The Night” for Lady Gaga’s 10th Anniversary Edition of Born This Way, sucker-punched me square in the face. Of course, from there things only got better. With Slayyyter, Jessie Ware, Marina, Lorde, Megan Thee Stallion AND Doja all dropping mega hits today too, I reckon the gays will be feasting on these tunes for a while. How I’m going to fit this all into Wonderlist escapes me, but for now, I’ll be living in the moment and turning my speakers all the way up!

Watching: Glow Up
For anyone who likes makeup in the slightest, like even if your only cosmetic purchase is a tub of vaseline, Glow Up should be your next TV fix. It’s a competition show all about painting your mug, and, if I’m being totally honest, is camper than the tee-pee section of a boutique festival. I mean, when the judges really love something, the highest commendation they can give is a ‘ding, dong’. It’s absurd, but in the best way. And the fact that Maya Jama is the host? What more could you want to watch after a long day on the grind…

Social: This Kylie Minogue High-Fashion Moment

To know me is to know I am absolutely, unabashedly a Kylie Minogue stan. So when I saw this keen spot by @TheKimbino I was flummoxed. This dress should be in a museum (it probably already is) for how underrated yet mesmerisingly iconic it is in the gay lexicon. It just screams “SEX!” right in your face, which is what all good fashion should be doing anyway!

Doing: Grind
If you completed your uni years in London as I did, you probably found yourself at one of the Grind branches during your weekend explorations. Having spent countless Sundays bottomless-brunching and sipping on ‘gram-worthy cocktails there as one of my girlfriends waited tables, it has become a stomping ground of mine. Making my overdue return to their Liverpool Street branch this weekend, I will be embracing their cocktail menu with open arms whilst soaking in the neon-pink glow and contrasting marble decor the coffee company and bar chain is known for.

Beauty: Collection Colour Lash Clear Mascara as eyebrow gel

I am going to need you to hear me out with this one. I am aware that mascara is the last product that you’d think to use on your brows, but, Collection’s Colour Lash Clear Mascara has revolutionised my brow routine. Acting as eyebrow gel, the product’s bristled applicator combs through eyebrows effortlessly as the clear mascara sets and elongates in the same way it would your lashes, offering that fluffy soap brown look that will last you throughout the day. And, with the product retailing at £1.99, that won’t be breaking the bank any time soon.

Lifestyle: Shreddy Short Resistance Band in Medium

Should you find the prospect of heading down to the free weight section of the gym and trying to do your hip thrusts with burly gym lads tower over you slightly daunting, then the Shreddy Short Resistance Band is for you. The Grace Beverly-owned brand Shreddy offers resistance bands of the highest quality, and, if patient and persistent you will definitely notice growth and tightening in all of the right areas without any heavy lifting after introducing the product into your gym routine ( I can vouch for this after having used the medium band for a fair few months now.) With each strength of band available in cute pastel colourways, these are essential for a hot girl summer.

Listening: Megan Thee Stallion – “Thot Shit”
Tina Snow is back, and she’s back with a vengeance. Putting her very short hiatus to an end with her new single “Thot Shit”, the rapper hits out at the haters and springs to action in a horror-style video, filled with twerking galore and risky outfits. The only thing that I couldn’t keep my eyes of was Meg’s knees because I’m going to need some of that this summer on the dance floor.

Watching: Lupin
During last year’s lockdown, I must have binge-watched more shows than I have watched in my life. And while some faded away like a distance memory, Netflix’s Lupin became etched in my mind, and now that season two is here, I can binge-watch to my heart’s content. Focusing on the life of Assane Diop, the Netflix show is a retelling of the world-famous gentleman thief and master of disguise. Filled with shocking twists and revelations, the show will have you on the edge of your seat in anticipation.

Doing: Skating
It’s no secret in the team right now that I am currently obsessed with rollerskating. Having received my baby pink Impala skates this week, it has been near impossible to get me off them. From learning to skate backwards to moonwalking across the concrete, this new hobby of mine has slowly but surely taken hold of my evenings. And if you’re in need of a new skill to learn this summer, I would strongly recommend picking up a pair of skates and heading down to the 02.
