If there is one thing we love, it’s murder mysteries, so you can imagine our excitement when Knives Out was given the greenlight for two more sequels. If you haven’t watched the first, here is a quick recap. Written and directed by Brickdirector Rian Johnson, the thrilling mystery film follows master detective – Benoit Blanc – who investigates the death of a wealthy patriarch from a more than dysfunctional family. Starring a stellar cast including Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Katherine Langford, Lakeith Stanfield and Ana de Armas, the film became a blockbuster success back in 2019 and was critically acclaimed for its madly entertaining script and slick production.

Nominated for various prestigious awards, it made sense that Netflix decided to buy the rights for two sequels early this year. With Daniel Craig expected to return as the master detective alongside a brand new cast, the sequel is due to receive the same hype as the original, with fans already going wild with various cast announcements. Due to begin filming this June, we put our own detective skills to the test and went digging into everything we can expect from the sequel.

With the way the original film went, we knew that the sequel had to come with the same energy. Revealing that Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson and Madelyn Cline had all signed on to the project in undisclosed roles, the sequel is already stacking up to be another blockbuster success.

In the first film, we were taken to the illustrious mansion of Harlan Trombey in Massachusetts. But for the second, it looks like we’re heading to the Mamma Mia-ready islands of Greece. Keeping the plot tightly under wraps, we can only assume this film could include a passenger overboard on an expensive yacht, poisoned greek salads or a mysterious disappearance in one of their famous hidden caves – we’ll let you decide.
