It is no secret that Lorde has been keeping her fans waiting when it comes to new music. Since her smash studio album Melodrama dropped all the way back in 2017, her followers and music lovers alike have been kept in the dark as to when the queen of pop would make her return.

But, after a string of teases including the singer’s feature on the Primavera Sound 2022 lineup, she has finally given the highly-anticipated confirmation that she has new music on the way this year. Updating her website to feature the summery cover art for her rumoured new single “Solar Power”, the singer reminded her fans that all good things come to those who wait with a simple statement that read “ARRIVING IN 2021 … PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE.”

Aside from Jack Antonoff’s involvement in the project which was confirmed by him posting the cover art on his Instagram yesterday, we know very little about the new drop including when it is coming and even whether it is an album or single, but, this hasn’t stopped Lorde’s loyal fans from taking over the TL with their reactions. Take a look below to see some of our favourites…

We were blinded by the cover art

We still can’t quite believe we are getting new Lorde content

We didn’t need to hear “Solar Power” to know that it is going to be life-changing

We are expecting straight flames from the drop

The Lorde fans ate when they heard the news

We appreciated the wholesome TL cleanse

The prospect of Jack Antonoff featuring on the track sent fans over the edge
