Future Nostalgia is the album Dua Lipa just can’t quit… not that we can blame her, it did only come out a year ago. The point we’re trying to make is that we’ve not experienced such a full-on album rollout like this in a hot minute. From immersive live stream performances, a club remix album mixed by The Blessed Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Missy Elliott and Madonna feature AND some good old-fashioned B-sides, you’d have thought Ms. Lipa had run out of tricks up her sleeve, but alas… she’s only gone and got all yeehaw on us in the video for “Love Again”.

For those who don’t meander into Stan Twitter too often, the track is a hotly-contested fan favourite, and tells the story of a hateful romantic rediscovering the power of love. Somewhere along the way, a sad cowboy clown lassos a huge – and we’re talking colossal – egg, all the while Lipa and her gang of hoe-down havers break out into a TikTok worthy dance routine – with plenty of gorgeous fashions involved.

We then switch to our favourite pop star atop a mechanical bull, before it disappears completely in a Lynchian twist as a majestic stallion, clad in Christmas lights, storms through the scene. We’re not too sure what happens to the egg, but eventually, it too disappears and the rambunctious cowboys are left galloping around on invisible steeds as Ms. Dua looks hotter than hot floating in slow-motion above all the chaos.

By the end of all the festivities, we’re not entirely sure what’s happened, but our minds are totally blown. Our one gripe is the visibly unsettling ending when, after bagging her cowboy sweetheart, Lipa proceeds to smear her lipstick all over his white suit. Sorry but where is the decorum? Perhaps her next video will take place in a dry cleaners… who knows?
