Whenever the news of a new biopic arises, the excitement sets in. From Netflix’s Halston to the explosive Bohemian Rhapsody, we have been treated to a range of life-based films and series over the last few years, meaning that anytime a new one is teased, the TL begins to buzz. Well, looking as if it may be the most iconic of biopics yet, Cher took to Twitter to reveal that a movie about her life is in the works.
In the slightly confusing yet wildly exciting tweet, the legendary singer revealed that Universal have started work on her biopic project. With Mamma Mia!’s Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman cited as producers and Eric Roth set to write the unnamed project, the film already exudes excellence. And, with all three of them being names as “friends” in Cher’s tweet, the hope of an intimate and well-informed look at the singer hangs in the balance.
With no cast, date or title anywhere to be seen, it is clear that it will be quite some time until the biopic hits our screens. But, the prospect of Cher’s unmatched outfits and musical talent being brought to us in a cinematic project is enough to already have us very excited.
