It has been a hot minute since we received some new Leonardo DiCaprio content, and, it is safe to say we are in desperate need of some. With the 2019 movie Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood standing as the actors last starring role on the big screen, we have all been waiting for the moment in which he would return with another Oscar-worthy performance. Well, that moment is finally here as Apple gives us our first look at the star in the upcoming Western crime drama Killers of the Flower Moon.

Exuding his usual rugged handsomeness, DiCaprio is seen sporting a casual suit and hair pushed back into curtain bangs as we get our first glimpse of him stepping into the role of Ernest Burkhart. Joined by co-star Lily Gladstone, the picture offers the duo situated amongst bleak 1920s Western decor, nodding to the visual aesthetics we can expect from the upcoming film. Donning a pensive stare and period-appropriate attire, the picture holds the promise of DiCaprio in a new light.

The Martin Scorsese-directed film, which is based on David Grann’s renowned non-fiction book, is set to take us on a journey of mystery, as the plot follows the murders of the Native American Osage Nation in a series of unexpected shootings and poisonings which prompt a widespread F.B.I investigation.

With the promise of drama and intrigue hanging in the air, as well as a highly-decorated cast that will see the likes of Robert De Niro joining DiCaprio, the anticipation surrounding Killers of the Flower Moon is heightening. And, while there is no release date as of yet, this image from the upcoming project is enough to have us hooked, and we will definitely be keeping an eye out for more updates.
