We love a good contemporary pop fiesta as much as the next person, but sometimes that stripped-back acoustic version just hits different, and British DJ Blaise is doing just that with his latest collaboration with Poppy Baskcomb in “Moments”. Gently taking us through with a euphoric production, the duo skilfully dissects the original synth-heavy single, leaving only Poppy’s soul-driven lyricism and Blaise’s stirring and centring bassline. Leaving behind the dance floor-ready Balearic tones on the original, the acoustic version captures the true meaning behind the single, letting us hone in on every powerful lyric and tonal change.
“This song for me is one of my personal favourites to date,” Blaise revealed as he discussed the original. “The words reflect the moment of the current world situation. With Poppy’s soulful voice, catchy vocals and melody, I’m very excited about this release.”
Known as a major player in the party scene with residencies in Dubai and in various elite destinations, Blaise has been spending the past few years touring the world as DJ, gaining support from Jax Jones and David Guetta-favourite Jin Jin and Durham-hailed singer Karen Harding. Ready to take over the club scene once more when June 21 arrives, we say stay tuned on all things Blaise as there are more bangers on the way.
