From Beyoncé schooling us on the best of independent British fashion to Bella Hadid, Skai Jackson and Yungblud mastering the art of pulling off some of the most celebrated fashion trends of 2021, here are some of our favourite looks from the week….
LOOKS OF THE WEEK
Beyoncé supports London-based designers and Bella Hadid rocks the best of 2021 trends in this week’s fashion round-up.
Beyoncé does KNWLS
Let’s be real, Beyoncé has been running the fashion game for as long as we can remember. After turning out era-defining looks and unforgettable fashion serves, she has gained the accolade of style reference point for an entire generation. And, with this great power comes great responsibility. So, while many celebs stick to the more mainstream brands, Beyoncé has been embarking on a mission to become more well versed on independent and emerging designers. And, her latest designer of choice? South London-based womenswear designer Charlotte Knowles. For this week’s look, the singer can be seen dressed in a vibrant bubblegum pink two-piece with splashes of orange and yellow print, layered under a striped corset infused with a citrus colour palette, courtesy of Charlotte’s London-based brand KNWLS. Choosing an orange bag and sunglasses as accessories, the look was both fierce and fashion-forward.
Bella Hadid makes a case for the elbow-length gloves and platform boots trends
It’s official. Elbow-length gloves are here to stay. While we have seen these quintessentially retro accessories popping up on our feed for a while now, there was no telling if this was a quick fad or a trend worthy of the name. Well, proving that the accessory can be both sexy and chic is Bella Hadid. Donning a pair of on-trend mauve platform boots and a mini pastel yellow shoulder bag, which matched yellow streaks in the model’s hair, a pair of simple-yet-statement ribbed gloves matched her LBD in a display of styling perfection. I guess we are going to buy a pair of elbow-length gloves now?
Rockstar chic is Miley Cyrus’ aesthetic of choice
It has been a very busy week for Miley Cyrus. After spending the week in New York, the singer graced the SNL stage as a musical guest on the highly controversial Elon Musk-hosted episode of the show. But, regardless of her busy schedule, the Disney Channel star still managed to take some time out to offer us a serve on the gram. Latex gloves, heavy chain necklaces and a plain white tank top all acted as accompaniments to the star of the singers look, her pants. The sheer black and embellish trousers faded into a shaggy fur-meets-feather material in a display of true rockstar style.
Antoni Porowski is preppy perfection
Queer Eye’s resident chef and heartthrob Antoni Porowski knows a thing or two about serving – both in and out of the kitchen. Taking to the gram to give us a look at his latest outfit, he exuded youthful glee while dressed in a seriously cute getup. The chef chose to wear a vibrant mustard-meets-neon yellow V-neck sweater vest, boasting an embellished flower, paired with nylon Celine shorts as he posed effortlessly on a suburban-looking street. Reebok trainers finished off the outfit giving it a casual yet complete feel.
Travis Scott brings balaclavas back
Balaclavas for spring? Groundbreaking! The rapper put on a display of fashion over function this week dressed in brown balaclava, patent leather shorts and a Pearl Jam t-shirt as he leaned against a palm tree on a seemingly warm Spring day. We support your dedication to the look, Travis.
Skai Jackson masters the art of dinner time dressing
Choosing a corset and cropped fur jacket as her ensemble of choice, actress Skai Jackson was a vision as she stepped out on the town. Accompanied by a pair of vintage jeans and Prada boots, the young star’s looks was eclectic in nature and also featured statement hoops and a face painted to the gods.
Yungblud is a punk-rock cowboy
Taking to the desert in an all-black ‘fit is a brave decision, but if anyone could pull it off, it would be Yungblud. The “parents” singer, who chose a hazy looking desert as his backdrop, wore a pair of form-fitting split hem leather trousers, as well as a black hat and t-shirt, all the while exuding his usual boisterous rockstar energy. Offering us a display of monochrome mastery, the singer really turned it out this week.
